The BSc(Hons) Foundation Year Fashion Management and Strategy is a full-time degree course that is four years long and is intended to prepare students to become leaders in the fashion and lifestyle industries. It starts with a Foundation Year which helps close the gap between entry requirements and those who may not have met the direct entry requirements and helps the student concentrate on the necessary academic and business study skills. Further in the course, innovation and business decision-making will be incorporated with significant focus on sustainability and ethical fashion. Students gain the analytical skills and management confidence to be great managers, brand planners, or business people in the competitive creative industry around the world through modules in social media marketing, business finance, sustainable management, and much more.

Foundation Year 

  • Creative Challenge: Identity, Environment, and Community: Understanding the relationship between fashion and social identity and developing fundamental study skills. 
  • Creative Challenge: Systems, Story and Change: Exposes students to how the industry works and the power of brand/story telling. 
  • Final Major Project: A final major project in which students show their level of readiness to enter  Year by conducting their own research and by being creative in their application. 

Year 1

  • Social Media Marketing and Management (CIM401): Dedicated to the digital strategy and brand management in the connected world. 
  • The Fashion System (CIM405): Gives a general picture of the workings of the global fashion industry in terms of how it works between production and retail. 
  • Consumer Insights (CIM403): This involves the application of analytical methods to explain and forecast the buyer behavior. 
  • Business Finance (CIM404): Gives the necessary financial literacy to operate within budgets to achieve the profit. 

Year 2

  • Sustainable Fashion Management (CIM505): Discusses how the industry is transforming into an increased production of ethics and environmental responsibility. 
  • Live Brief (CIM502): Students are challenged to resolve industry problems to actual clients. 
  • Career Planning(CIM503): Is concerned with career growth, networking and readiness to the international job market. 
  • Fashion Merchandising (CIM506): Instils in the logistics of stock management, range planning and management in a retail. 

Year 3

  • Major Project (Proposal, Production, and Evaluation): During the final This year, students create a large amount of work in the form of modules CIM601, CIM602, and CIM603, which is a professional portfolio, which they can use to demonstrate their analytical and management skills to employers.

Fashion Manager: A Fashion Manager is the manager of the entire performance of a fashion brand or a department. They decide on crucial issues concerning planning, budgeting and managing teams. 

Brand Manager: The responsibility of a Brand Manager is the creation and marketing of an image of a fashion brand. They make the brand remain competitive and attractive in the market. 

Product Development Manager: A Product Development Manager is one who deals with the development of new designs of fashion products, through the development phase to the final launch. They collaborate with designers and production departments. 

Fashion Business Owner: A Fashion Business Owner is a person who owns and runs his own fashion company. They deal with the designing and marketing to sales and finance. Operation and Specialist Functions 

Fashion Buyer: A Fashion Buyer chooses and buys clothes or products that will be sold in the stores. They research about trends and customer requests to select the appropriate items. 

Merchandiser: A Merchandiser is the one in charge of the arrangement of display and sales of the products to boost sales. They measure the sales information and make sure that the appropriate products are at the right moment. 

Supply Chain Coordinator: A Supply Chain Coordinator deals with the transportation of goods between suppliers and shops. They ensure timely deliveries and keep the costs at check. 

Sustainability Officer: A Sustainability Officer is a position that makes fashion businesses adhere to ethical and environmental friendly business practices. They are concerned with decreasing waste and responsible production. Marketing and Retail 

Marketing Executive: A Marketing Executive will market fashion products by advertisement, campaign and events. They assist in raising brand recognition and sales. 

Fashion Retail Manager: A Fashion Retail Manager is one who runs an outlet or a clothing store. They oversee employees, sales quotas and good customer service. 

Social Media Specialist: A Social Media Specialist is a person who oversees Internet resources, such as Instagram and Tik Tok, to publicise fashion brands. They develop content that is interesting to the customers. 

Consumer Data Specialist: A Consumer Data Specialist analyses the data in customer behaviour and sales. They assist the businesses to know the trends and better their marketing strategies.
