Duration: An additional four years on top of the minimum of 5 years for students joining with qualifications equivalent to those attained by students with 5 ‘O’ Level passes.

Study Mode: Full-time 

Assessment: Essays, reports, case studies, presentations, and placements.

Placements/Practical Experience: Students are strongly encouraged to pursue their student or voluntary work in health care or social care organizations.

 

The first year also focuses on the skills which are viewed by the college as the back-bone of every academic outputs, together with the necessary introduction to health and social care principles. This makes them ready to take on more complex lessons in subsequent years of their learning. The course uses experienced tutors, and advanced teaching and learning resources, and sometimes uses placements to ensure that learners are market-ready when they complete their programs.

  • Foundation Year: Academic oriented, and basically aimed at introducing vocationally relevant major health and social care subjects while developing students’ academic skills in order to enable them to proceed to the next level.
  • Health Principles: Learning about the relationship between body, mind, and community health to include areas such as public health, behavior diseases, and mental health.
  • Social Care Frameworks: Review of legal requirements, moral responsibilities, lobbying, and part that different agencies have in social care.
  • Communication Skills: Soft skills such as; understanding the needs of other people, grasping what someone is saying, and passing information in the right manner.
  • Practical Experience: Internship chances to implement college learned knowledge in practical organizations.
  • Foundation Year:

    • Academic Skills Development: Overview of research, academic writing and study skills.
    • Introduction to Health and Social Care: This year will introduce simple concepts within the Health and Social care subject, with topics that are relevant to the subsequent years of the course.
    • Healthcare Systems Overview: Comparing the frameworks of various types of health care systems.

    Year 1:

    • Foundations of Health: Conceiving on the three dimensions of health common in many frameworks and theories.
    • Introduction to Public Health: Discussions of issues related to society’s on-going research in areas of interest like lifestyle diseases and mental disorders.
    • Communication in Health and Social Care: Exploring avenues of how to communicate with clients, families and other professionals.

    Year 2:

    • Ethical and Legal Issues in Social Care: Discussion of laws and ethics together with responsibilities when it comes to practice in social care facilities.
    • Behavioral and Social Influences on Health: Scientific analysis of the correlation between behaviour and sociological factors and health.
    • Research Methods in Health: Coming to grasp with the process of carrying out research and data analysis pertaining to health and social care.

    Year 3:

    • Healthcare Policy and Management: Health and social care policies and their consequent: an assessment.
    • Advanced Social Care Practices: Development of higher level social care structures and approaches.
    • Final Project: Interior cheep out an independent analysis project on a specific subject matter which must be linked to health or social care.

Career

Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing, and Social Care program have numerous career pathways to explore, depending on their interests and any additional qualifications they may pursue:

  • Healthcare Professional: There are chances to take up a nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or other allied health positions (further training may be needed).
  • Social Worker: Further on, one can obtain the necessary qualifications of operation, and become a registered social worker, assisting citizens in regard to diverse social problems.
  • Mental Health Practitioner: Employment in mental health support, counseling or therapy can be obtained and may need an additional practice license.
  • Health Promotion Specialist: Develop and conduct activities to improve people’s and communities’ health and prevent the illnesses that result in their deterioration.

  • Care Coordinator: Co-ordinate the care of clients with multiple health needs, in order to assure a timely and efficient receipt of services from different health care givers.
  • Advocacy and Support Roles: Get involved with other organizations for the defence of marginalised groups in society such as children, the elderly or the disabled persons.
  • Health Data Analyst: Design and redesign of healthcare services and patient care by relating to health information and incorporating needed improvements.
